Planetary Scientist & Volcanologist
Postdoctoral Scholar, UC Santa Cruz
I am a planetary scientist who studies meteorites to understand how planets are formed, and how they continue to evolve. The measurements focus on how planets “differentiate,” meaning how they form a core, mantle and crust.
I am also a volcanologist, and I examine volcanic rocks, both from Earth and other planets. Volcanos help learn about a planet’s mantle, and the types of gases that are released into the atmosphere.
